Hello, I hope you’re having a lovely day!
Today we’re celebrating the release of the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Tree Peony release with a blog hop and giveaways! If you arrived from Sande Woodson’s blog, you’re right on track. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I started off by creating four blooms. I stamped the outline layer in Permanent Black ink onto white cardstock and then stamped the three petal layers, from the bottom layer to the top, in Iceberg, Lavender Fields, and Hydrangea Crisp Dye inks. I really like how the layers leave un-inked white highlights on the petals!
Next, I stamped the centers of the flowers using Buttercream and Sunray Crisp Dye inks. I cut out the blooms with the coordinating die and then positioned them around an A2-sized panel, without adhering them.
Rather than creating leaves with the multiple layers included in the set, I used only the outline stamp. Using the positioned blooms as a guide, I lifted up each bloom and stamped a leaf in gray pigment ink. When I finished, I adhered the blooms with foam tape and trimmed off any parts that were hanging off the edge of the panel. I positioned these extra parts at the top left and right middle of the panel and, before I adhered them with foam tape, I again stamped some leaves beneath them.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in black ink onto a piece of white cardstock. I created just the bottom part of a frame by adhering the sentiment strip to a slightly taller piece of black cardstock. Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front using a bit of foam tape and glue. To finish the card, I adhered the card front to a card base.
Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the amazing Joylita Dsouza! Be sure to check below for information about the giveaway and for the full blog hop list.

I adore your lavender/blue color choice for the peonies and the subtle gray leaf outlines. I also really appreciate seeing a card covered in blooms like we’re getting a close-up of a cluster of blossoms on peony tree. 🙂
