Hello there, I hope your day is going well!
The January Gina K. Designs release is live and I have two cards to share today using two new gorgeous floral stamps sets. I love that these images are beautiful for coloring and also for the technique I used today to create bold, colorful, graphic cards!
I began my first card by stamping the large floral image from the Heartfelt Bouquet stamp set onto the corner of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock in black pigment ink. Next, I created a mask by stamping the same image onto a sheet of adhesive masking paper. Gina K. has fantastic Masking Magic low-tack adhesive masking paper. I fussy cut most of the image, focusing on the part of the bouquet that would be pointed towards the center of the card and then adhered it over my stamped image.
Next, I positioned Post-It Tape over the borders of the card, overlapping the floral mask, to mask off the margins.
Using blending brushes, I blended two colors of Gina K. Designs ink over the unmasked area. I concentrated Lipstick ink at the bottom left of the panel and then added Wild Dandelion ink at the top right, blending it down and towards, and even a bit over the red, to soften it into a ripe peachy color.
When I finished blending, I gently peeled back the masks. I stamped the large sentiment in black pigment ink and then used white embossing powder and Wow! Embossing pad to heat emboss a smaller sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock. I adhered this to the card front with foam tape and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base to finish.
It’s Been Too Long
My second card features a floral stamp from the Love At All Times stamp set (with a sentiment from Heartfelt Bouquet). I followed the same steps, however this time I ink blended with Turquoise Sea and Wild Wisteria inks, blending them together in the center to create a blue transition between the turquoise and purple.
Thank you so much for visiting!
