Sweet As Can Bee | Hero Arts January 2021 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the January release with a blog hop and giveaway! If you’ve arrived from Pocono Pam’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the Hero Arts blog.

This month’s kit features a beautiful large floral image and some coordinating images including cute and chubby bumblebees! There’s also a great standalone die that cuts a honeycomb pattern and the entire kit is a great value at $34.99 when its contents are valued at $70!

I began my card by stamping the large floral image in a no-line ink color onto a piece of Fabriano Artistico Extra White cold press watercolor paper. I added a few drops of Pink, Mulled Wine, Moss, Dandelion, Orange, and Artprint Brown Liquid Watercolors to separate wells in a ceramic palette and then used a round 2 paintbrush to paint the image. I used Pink and Mulled wine for the blooms, Artprint Brown for the branch, and Dandelion mixed with Orange for the bumblebee. After the image dried, I used Copic RV09 to add color to the small round anthers at the center of each flower, and a dark red colored pencil to draw in the thin lines of the filaments.

Next, I used Embossing & Watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto an A2-panel of Paradise cardstock, and then splattered it with white gouache.

To assemble the card, I adhered the blooming branch and bee to the background panel and then adhered the panel to a card base.

  50. Gorgeous card – love the color of the blooms. That blue background is so pretty and makes the cute bee and the blooms stand out from the card. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas and talent with us. 🙂
