Hello and happy Friday!
Today, Tonic Studios is celebrating their November Stamp Club release, Happy Hibiscus, with a blog hop and giveaway. If you’ve arrived from Maria’s blog (Maria inspired this set!) you’re right on track!

My card features the beautiful tropical background stamp from this month’s stamp set. I heat embossed the image in copper embossing powder onto navy cardstock. Then, I used a waterbrush pen to color in the flowers with Finetec Copper Pearlescent watercolor. Because I used regular cardstock, I took care not to use too much water.
When I finished coloring the flowers, I selected a few leaves to color in order to create more balance between the solid images and the outlined images. Next, I applied a second layer of watercolor to create more opaque coverage. You can see in the photo above that this pearlescent watercolor is very shimmery in the light. The photo at bottom shows the card in indirect light.
To create the sentiment, I used the same embossing powder and cardstock, and then painted a copper border with the same watercolor. I backed the piece with foam tape and then adhered it to the background. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
The Tonic Studios Stamp Club set of the month includes the coordinating dies. Once this bundle is sold out, it’s gone for good!

Thank you so much for coming by! Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom for information about the giveaway and to view the full blog hop list.

Wow, there are so many ways to make this set look stunning. Selectively painting the greenery does keep the card from being too busy. I’ll have to remember to give that a try.
