Hi there and happy Friday!
It’s day one of three days counting down to the November Hero Arts release on Monday, and today I’m sharing a card featuring the new My Monthly Hero card kit (the kit goes live on 11/2).
I started off by stamping, in Soft Sky ink, one of the little background stamps in the set multiple times onto an 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of white cardstock to create a patterned background.
Next, I stamped the bird in Pale Tomato onto another piece of cardstock, and then selectively inked and stamped part of its wing in darker Red Royal for a bit of depth. I used the coordinating die to cut out the bird. Notice that the die cuts right to the edge of the image which means the dies can be used to easily create masks! Using a black gel pen, I added a little detail to his eye.
Then, I die cut four branches out of white cardstock. I stacked and adhered three die cuts together to create a single branch that has a bit of thickness to it.
To assemble the card, I adhered the two branches to the patterned background and then used foam tape to adhere the bird and the sentiment, which I’d stamped in black ink onto a strip of cardstock. Finally, I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ inch and then used foam tape to adhere it to an A2-sized card base.
