Hi there, I hope you’re having a nice day!
Today I have a card featuring the pretty Cascading Flowers stamp set from Technique Tuesday. Be sure to check out Technique Tuesday’s monthly Greenhouse Society subscription to have a floral stamp set delivered to you each month!
I start by creating the background which is an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock. I used it Post-it tape to mask off a half-inch border and then got out foam blending tools and four colors of Distress Oxide inks: Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, and Blueprint Sketch. I started by blending Twisted Citron onto the panel at one end, and Broken China at the other, then I added Cracked Pistachio in the middle and blended the colors together. To add a bit more contrast, I added just a bit of Blueprint Sketch at the top of the blend.
While the panel was drying (I let it sit for several hours), I used white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment from the stamp set onto black Hero Hues cardstock.
Next, I positioned the stamp in a Misti stamping tool and stamped the floral onto the ink-blended background in Wow! Embossing Pad ink. I heat embossed it with the same white embossing powder and then used a white gel pen to extend the branch to line where the ink-blending and white frame meet.
To assemble the card, I adhered the sentiment with foam tape and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for coming by!
