Hi there, I hope you’re having a great weekend!
I have another card today using the new Potted Lily stamp set from the Waffle Flower Crafts February release. This time, I went for a bit of no-line watercolor which, I’ll be honest, makes me a little nervous. But, the more I practice this technique, the better I feel about it 🙂
I started off by stamping the floral image three times onto Fabriano Artistico Extra White Cold Press watercolor paper. I used Gina K. Warm Glow Amalgam ink which is just dark enough for me to see (oh, my aging eyes!) but light enough to give the feel of no-line watercoloring. Using a waterbrush pen and Karin Brushmarker Pro markers, I colored the images by applying a little bit of marker directly to the image, and drawing the pigment out using the waterbrush pen. The color I used were Fire Red (for the petals), Burgundy (for the deep shadows), Gold (for the stamen), and Lush Green and Grass for the petals. When the flowers were dry, I added a bit of detail using Polychromos color pencils and then used the coordinating dies to cut out the images.
For the background, I used one of the plaid stamps from the new Simply Plaids stamp set. I stamped the pattern in Altenew Morning Mist ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White.
To finish the card, I adhered the flowers with foam tape and then stamped the sentiment (from the Potted Lily set) in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. Then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for coming by!
You did a beautiful job with the no-line!! I have yet to succeed with that :). Lovely colors, too! TFS!
