Hello, lovelies!
I’m super excited and honored to be part of a birthday blog hop celebrating
The Stamp Market‘s 3rd birthday. If you arrived from
Rebecca’s blog, you’re right on track. To start at the beginning, head on over to
The Stamp Market. I hope you’ll hop along for inspiration using the new February release. Be sure to comment along the way and earn a chance to win one of three $50 Gift Cards to The Stamp Market shop!

For this first card with it’s rainbow ink-blended background, I started with an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock and seven colors of Distress Oxide inks: Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, and Seedless Preserves. Using foam blending tools, I blended each color onto the card, starting with the pink/red Worn Lipstick and working clockwise through the rainbow. Where two different colors met, I took my time blending them together for a smooth transition. I didn’t worry too much about the very center of the panel, where all seven colors would meet, since I knew I would be covering it with a sentiment. When I finished blending, I trimmed the panel to 4″ x 5.25″ and set it aside.
I stamped the palette. paint tube, and paint brush in Copic-friendly black ink. Then, using R43, YR65, Y13, G02, BG01, and RV66, I did some very quick and basic coloring. Next, I stamped the sentiment and then cut out all of the pieces with the coordinating dies. I love it when a die set comes with a die that perfectly cuts out the sentiment!
To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment and other die cuts to the rainbow panel. Then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base, again with foam tape.
For my second card, I combined elements from the same stamp set with the Rainbow Stripes dies from last month’s release.

I started by creating the rainbow. This time I used regular Distress Inks (Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, and Tumbled Glass) to ink up some Neenah Solar White. I took my ink cubes directly to the paper for quick saturation. No blending tools necessary! Once I had separate pieces of inked-up paper, I used the Rainbow Stripes dies to cut out five colorful arcs. I also cut out extra arcs out of 110# white cardstock so that I could create additional depth for some of the arcs.
I stacked and adhered five white layers of the largest arc together, and then adhered the red layer on top. The orange arc has three white layers beneath it, and the yellow arc has one white layer beneath it. The green and blue arcs don’t have any extra layers.
I stamped the little card with a heart on it and the paint brush, both from the Makers Gonna Make stamp set, in Copic-friendly ink and then used BV02 to color the heart and the head of the brush. Next I stamped the sentiment in black pigment ink, and then I used the coordinating dies to cut out the three pieces. I cut out three additional layers for the sentiment and then stacked and adhered them together.
To assemble the card, I adhered the rainbow arcs to an A2-sized card base and then adhered the little card nad paint brush with foam tape. Then I adhered the sentiment before adhering the card front to an A2-sized card base.
