Hello | My Favorite Things

Today’s card is one that I worked on when I was visiting the My Favorite Things boutique in Eustis, Florida last month for Kathy Racoosin’s The Coloring Challenge Roadtrip event.  During Kathy’s events she shares her top 10 coloring tips which you can now learn over at Online Card Classes!

I began by using Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink to stamp the My Favorite Things Floral Focus image onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.  I used R20, R22, and R24 to color the petals, flicking on the lightest color first and then adding flicks of R22 and shorter flicks of R24.  I wanted to keep the petals light so I left a lot of white space.

I added some hints of yellow in the centers of some of the flowers and then used G40, YG25, and YG17 to shade the petals.

Using a Copic 0.03 Multiliner pen and a ruler, I drew in corners at the top left and bottom right of the panel.  Then I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp the sentiment, which is from the My Favorite Things Heap of Hellos stamp set.

To finish, I adhered this one-layer card front to an A2-sized card base.
