Can you believe it’s already December? This year has flown by and it’s already time to celebrate Simon Says Stamp’s DieCember release!
My card today uses the new Shimmer Butterfly die. The two pieces of this die can be used together to cut out the butterfly as I’ve used on my card, or they can be used separately. There are so many options with this die!
For my background, I masked off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White and then I created a blended rainbow using four Distress Oxide ink colors: Abandoned Coral, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, and Wilted Violet. I used four foam blending tools to blend the colors. I started with Abandoned Coral, then added Squeezed Lemonade, overlapping the two and blending them together a bit to create the orange. Then I added Salty Ocean, overlapping and blending it with the Squeezed Lemonade to create green. Lastly I blended in Wilted Violet.
Keeping the two parts of the die together, I die cut the butterfly out of Neenah Solar White. I added a two Zots Bling adhesive dots in the center of the butterfly and adhered it to the background. I love how the wings of the butterfly lift away from the card front!
For the sentiment, I used the Friend die on Neenah Solar White, and it’s shadow die on vellum. I adhered the two pieces together with a Zig 2-way Glue Pen and then used the same glue to adhere the combined piece to the card front. Then to finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
