Hi there, I hope you’re having a good day!
Today I have a quick watercolor card using a background stamp and a bold sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.
To begin, I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and clear Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Flora Background stamp onto Canson XL Watercolor paper. Then I got out Purple and Violet Brusho pigment powders and sprinkled a bit of each into separate wells in a small palette. I added just a touch of water (not even a full drop) to each color and then used a round 2 brush to add a touch of highly concentrated pigment to the base of a flower. Then I used a Pentel Aquash waterbrush pen, filled with clean clear water, to wet the rest of the flower and pull out the color from where I’d touched it. I alternated colors one each bloom, sometimes using a bit of both color.
When the flowers were done, I added blue to the the negative spaces by adding several drops of water to a sprinkling of Cobalt Blue powder and using the waterbrush to paint the open areas. After the panel was dry, I trimmed it to 4.25″ x 5.5″.
For the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Amazing stamp set. I stamped it in the same black Nocturne ink onto Neenah Solar White, and then adhered it to a piece of vellum.
To finish, I adhered the sentiment piece to the background with foam tape and then adhered the background to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
Oh I LOVE the rich purple you used on the flowers. This card is GORGEOUS!!
