Hi there, I hope you’re having a great day!
There’s a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero and this month’s theme is Nature. Be sure to head over to the blog for inspiration and to link up your project for a chance to win a Hero Arts gift card!
I started this card by using the Paper Layering Koi Fish With Frame die* to cut a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper. Then I watercolored the fish using Brusho Crystal Colour powders. I used a bit of the Vermillion, Orange, and Yellow powders, each mixed with just a touch of water (not even a full drop) to create highly pigmented watercolors. I used a small round brush to touch on spots of watercolor and then used a waterbrush pen to pull out and spread the color.
For the background, I stamped the Waves Background stamp in Stone Wash ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White which I then trimmed down to just slightly smaller than 4″x5.25″.
And for the sentiment, I used a stamp from the Hello Toucan stamp set and stamped in Intense Black ink onto a strip of Neenah.
To assemble the card, I added foam tape to the back of the waves panel and adhered it to an A2-sized piece of Neenah. Then I adhered the fish with a few Zots Bling adhesive dots. I pulled up on the tail, fins, and head a bit to separate them from the the attached die cut frame which added pretty dimension. I used a bit more foam tape to adhere the sentiment and then to finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
