Hi there and happy Friday!
It’s release day over at Ellen Hutson and there are brand new stamps and dies in their fun Essentials By Ellen June release! This release features cute and clever designs by amazing Julie Ebersole so be sure to check it out!
I fell in love with the Voices In My Head stamp set* as soon as I saw it. Maybe it was because I’m constantly talking to myself or because this lady looks like she wishes she could hide from the world for just a bit and have a moment to herself. Do you ever feel that way? I do! So, I decided that this cutie needed a spa day ;p
I started by using a curved die from the new Landscapes die set to trim a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock to create a wave of bathwater. Using a foam blending tool, I inked up the die cut piece with light blue Catherine Pooler It’s A Boy ink. Then I used a Marvy Snow Marker to create the bubbles. I ran the marker along the wavy edge of the die cut to add a solid strip of liquid and then I added more dots of liquid, spaced apart. Using a heat gun, I heated the liquid just until it puffed up. The dimension is amazing!
Then, on an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, I stamped the woman so it would look like she was mostly submerged in the bath. I used Versafine Claire Nocturne ink for her, as well as for the sentiment which I stamped onto another piece of Neenah Solar White that I’d die cut with a die from the new Speech Bubbles die set. I used the same foam blending tool from earlier to add a bit of blue ink to the edges of the speech bubble so that it would stand out a tad from the white background.
To assemble the card, I trimmed the A2-panel down to 4″x5.25″ and then adhered the water layer onto it. I backed the speech bubble with foam tape and then used more foam tape to adhere the entire card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
