Friendship Cards, Just Because Cards

Sending Crafty Hugs

Hi there, I hope your day is going well!

Today I’m honored to be a part of Altenew’s very first Instagram hop! Altenew is celebrating 50K followers and has some prizes to give away so be sure to visit my post to learn how to enter and to hop along with the many makers who are participating today!

For this card I pulled out one of my favorite Altenew stamp sets, Engraved Flowers.* I stamped several of the images in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I colored them in using BV01, BV02, BV04, and BV08 for the blossoms, with some Y08 and Y17 for the yellow centers of the flowers. For the leaves I used G40 and G43. I cut out the images and set them aside to work on the background.

I used Post-it Tape to mask off the sides of an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and then used a foam blending tool to blend Altenew Limestone Crisp Dye ink in from the edges of the card, fading to almost white in the center of the card. Then I stamped the sentiment, from the Altenew Crafty Life stamp set, in Versafine Clair Medieval Blue ink which is a beautiful navy blue.

To assemble the card, I adhered the blossoms and leaves with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape for some variety and depth and then I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for visiting and do please visit the Instagram-hop if you can!

  1. This is lovely. I love the overall card design with the masking and shading you did to create the rectangle, and your coloring is beautiful.
