Hi there, I hope you had a lovely weekend!
Today I’m sharing a couple of cards using the fun new Extra Extra stamp set from The Stamp Market. I have to confess that last fall I had to ask someone what “extra” meant. I was like, isn’t there a word missing? Extra… what? If only I’d had this stamp set last year, I wouldn’t have had to embarrass myself!
I started with an A2-sized panel of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock onto which I stamped the upper two sentiments (“Today’s News” and “You Are Really”) in Versafine Clair Morning Mist ink. Then I stamped the large “Extra! Extra!” stamp in Altenew Coral Bliss ink, and its shadow in Altenew Chamomile ink. I finished by stamping the bottom sentiment in Morning Mist. Then I trimmed the panel down on all four sides.
I did set up the sentiments in separate Mini Mistis so that I could play with different color combinations without worrying about masking. Over time I’ve purchased two extra Mistis when I’ve seen them on sale because it can be a real time saver when I’m playing with layering stamps or want to experiment with different colors and produce more than one card at a time.
With the stamping done, I moved on to the background. I used Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Diamond Tile background stamp onto another A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. Using a foam blending tool, I blended on Catherine Pooler Tiara ink, which is a good match to Altenew Chamomile.
To assemble the card, I backed the sentiment piece with foam tape and then adhered it to the ink-blended panel, which I then adhered to an A2-sized card base.
For the other version of the card, I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, and Altenew Teal Cave and Ultramarine inks for the sentiments. I used Catherine Pooler Suede Shoes for the background.
Thank you so very much for coming by!
