Hi there, I hope you’re having a lovely day!
Today on Mother’s Day, this card is for moms and for those of you who aren’t moms in the traditional sense of the word, but who nonetheless love, nurture, and care for others.
I started by using the new Partial Cut Bouquet & A Bow die from the Pinkfresh Studio’s May release to die cut the bunch of flowers from an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. This die only partially cuts so that the top and bottom of each floral stem lifts away from the panel, but is still connected to the panel at the center, beneath where I adhered the sentiment.
I pulled up the flowers and then slid a piece of scrap paper beneath them so that I could color them without accidentally marking the background. I used Y18 and YR02 for the petals, and G43 and G46 for the stems.
I used the same yellow and orange to color the sentiment which I die cut using the Classic Words die set, also from Pinkfresh Studio. To easily color this delicate sentiment, I left it in the negative space of the paper I cut it from and then backed it with Post-It Tape to temporarily hold it all together while I colored. It looks like a hot mess this way, but always comes out nicely without a lot of effort!
I die cut the sentiment two more times out of scrap heavy cardstock and then stacked and adhered all three layers together before adhering the sentiment over the bunch of flowers.
To the left side of the card I adhered a strip of cardstock that I’d colored with the same YR02. As a finishing touch, I adhered Studio Katia Iridescent Crystals to the center of each flower. Finally, I adhered the card front to A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
