Wishing You Happiness Today And Always

Hi there, I hope your week got off to a good start!

Today I’m sharing a third project using products from the new April Pinkfresh Studios release.  Be sure to visit yesterday’s post for information about specials and giveaways, and to join along in the blog hop!

I started by creating an alcohol ink-blended panel using Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks and Legion brand Yupo paper.  I added drops of Wild Plum, Purple Twilight, and Flamingo alcohol inks to the Yupo panel, as well as a liberal sprinkling of Blending Solution.  I moved the ink around by blowing air, through a straw, over the panel and resorted to using a cheap paint brush to get the extra stubborn spots to fill in with color.

I let the panel dry overnight and then die cut it with the large die from the Leafy Wreaths Die Set. This die is stunning! I love how it cuts pop-up leaves which gives the die cut so much dimension.  Rather than poke out all of the fall out pieces, I left a few in, for some extra variation.

For the hummingbird, I used the die from the Folk Hummingbird Die Set. This time I decided to die cut the hummingbird from Yupo first and then add alcohol ink.  If I were to do it over, I would have inked first and then die cut since the ink did pool differently on the already-die cut piece of Yupo.  For this piece I used Purple Twilight and Amethyst alcohol inks.

The sentiment is from the Folk Hummingbird Stamp Set and is stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturn ink onto an A2-sized panel of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.

To assemble the card, I trimmed the hummingbird so that it would only appear on the inside of the wreath and then I used paper surgical tape (any thin tape will do) to adhere the two die cuts together.  To adhere the wreath to the card front, I used Zots Bling adhesive dots.  Lastly, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!
