Encouragement Cards, Just Because Cards

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful

Hi again! I have to apologize for the flurry of posts, there’s a lot of fun stuff going on this week! I hope I haven’t spammed your inbox too much 🙂

I’m sharing another card I made using products from the new April release from Pinkfresh Studio.  This time I’m using the Lacy Floral Border die and a sentiment from the You’ve Got This stamp set.  I’m an absolute sucker for encouraging sentiments, so much so that I hardly ever have a birthday card ready when I need one.  Oops!

I started by heat embossing the sentiment, using Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder, onto an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Then I got out my ink blending tools and three shades of Distress Oxide Inks: Seedless Preserves, Abandoned Coral, and Tattered Rose.  I blended from middle of the card, adding Seedless Preserves over the sentiment, blending out to Abandoned Coral, and eventually to Tattered Rose at the top and bottom of the card.

I decided to add some splatter over the Tattered Rose so I protected the sentiment with a piece of scrap paper and then used a small round paintbrush to splatter clean clear water over the rest of the card.  I let the water sit for about ten seconds before lifting it with a paper towel.  I also smooshed some Abandoned Coral onto my glass work surface, watered it down with a bit of water, and then used the same brush to add splatters of the mixture.

While the panel was drying, I die cut the border die twice out of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic crest cardstock.  I placed the dies upside down on a piece of scrap paper and used a Nuvo Glue Pen to dab adhesive onto their backs.  I flipped them over and then placed them on the panel, weighing them down with acrylic blocks while the glue set.

To finish the card, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you for coming by!
