Hi there and happy Friday!
Today’s card uses a stamp set from Picket Fence Studios that reminds me of days spent on the beach and in the water. I’m pretty sure I was a fish in a previous life, I love being in the water so much!
I started with an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and three Distress Oxide inks: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, and Chipped Sapphire. I went direct-to-paper with the Tumbled Glass, rubbing the ink pad over the top half of the panel. I did the same with Chipped Sapphire, over the bottom half the panel. Since ink sits on top of Bristol Smooth for a bit, the colors were streaky from rubbing so I used a foam blending tool and pouncing motions to even out the color. I also used the blending tool to blend in Salty Ocean, the medium color, in the middle.
I ended up letting the panel dry overnight since I started late in the evening, but a heat tool would work to speed up drying. When the panel was dry, I used Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts Embossing powder to heat emboss the bubbles from the A Bottomless Sea stamp set. The details of these bubbles is so wonderful!
Then, using Versafine Clair Nocturne ink, I stamped the sentiment across the top of the panel. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for swinging by!
