Holiday Cards

Joyeux Noël

Hello!

Today’s card is a quick an easy one using emboss resist, one of my favorite techniques, and some soft colors of Distress Oxide inks.

I’m entering this card in the latest Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge for a chance to win $25.  Read more about how you can enter the challenge.  This challenge’s theme is Christmas/holiday projects with Simon products.  How easy is that?!

I started by using white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Star cling stamp onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock.

Then, using a foam blending tool, I covered the panel in Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.  I went back over some areas around the star with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink and then to soften and blend it, I gently tamped some more Tumbled Glass over the Peacock Feathers.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Joyoux Noel die to die cut the sentiment from some scrap Neenah Solar White.  Then, using a Zig 2-way Glue Pen, I adhered the sentiment to a strip of Darice vellum.  Because this vellum is a bit thin, I cut an identical strip of vellum and layered the two strips before adhering them to the card front.  I simply wrapped the strips around the card and used Scotch tape to tape the ends on the back side.

To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thanks so much for swinging by!
