Hi there, I hope you’re having a lovely weekend!
The kind folks at Picket Fence Studios recently sent me some beautiful stamp sets to play with and when the package arrived yesterday, I couldn’t wait to play with this gorgeous peony!
I started by stamping one of the three peony blooms from the Peony Bouquet stamp set in alcohol-ink friendly PFS Black Hybrid Ink onto an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. I masked off a small part of a petal and then stamped the stem which included the five leaves. I took care not to ink up the bottom of the stem because it wasn’t quite long enough to reach the edge of the panel. I used a black Copic Multiliner 0.3 pen to extend the stem and then I got down to coloring.
I used RV10, RV63, and RV66 for the petals and G21, G24, and G28 for the leaves. Then I went in with a Dark Purple Prismacolor pencil and deepened the color in the nooks and crannies. Then I added a halo around the entire flower, starting with W5 and then adding W3 and W1 as I extended the halo further away from the flower.
The sentiment (I have always wanted one of these “tribe” sentiments!) is from the Simply Wonderful stamp set. I stamped it in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
Then I used a ruler to pencil in a sketchy frame which, when I was satisfied with it, I went over with a Sakura Pigma Micron 01 pen. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for visiting!
