Hello there!
I’ve been fussing and worrying over a sick kitty so I’m super late with this post. I somehow ended up making cards for three different seasons, three days in a row, so I figured I’d wrap it up with a card for the fourth season: summer.
I’ve had this sweet Summer Friends stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh in my stash for a couple of months now but hadn’t used it yet because, frankly, I sometimes find it difficult to build a scene with human and critter images. But this set is so adorable that it was the first thing I thought of when I decided to make a summer card.
I started by stamping the little girl, sand castle, and pail in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I colored them using these colors:
Hair: C1, C3, C5, C7
Skin: E50, E53
Pink cheeks: R20
Swimsuit: Y11, Y13, Y15
Pink floatie, pail, and flag: RV23, RV25, RV29
Sand castle: E21, E23, E25
Then I cut out the images using a Brother ScanNCut2 and set them aside.
The background is an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White. I used E21 and E23 to color the sand. Then I used B00, B01, B02, and B04 to color the ocean. I added a few drops of Copic colorless blender to a rag and dabbed it over the sand and sand castle to create a bit of texture.
For the clouds, I used a foam blending tool to blend Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the My Favorite Things Clouds stencil. And to finish off the background, I stamped the birds (from the safari Hero Arts stamp set from last summer) and the sentiment from the Summer Friends set in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.
I adhered the sand castle and the pail flush to the background and popped up the little girl with foam tape. Then I adhered the card front to an A20-sized card base and that finished up the card.
Thanks for coming by!
