Hi there, I hope you’re having a nice day!
I had so much fun coloring a little monster yesterday that I felt like coloring some more critters so today’s card features some cute bears from My Favorite Things’ Bitty Bears stamp set.
I started by stamping the bears in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Then I used E21 and E23 to color in the bears, doing some very light shading. I added a very small amount of Copic Colorless Blender to a small rag clipping and pressed it to the bears for 1-2 seconds in order to create a bit of texture.
I used RV23, RV25, and RV29 to color in the balloon, frosting, and present, and then used BG02 and BG07 to color in the cupcake wrapper. I added a few details to the cupcake and the present with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen and then I cut out the bears with a Brother ScanNCut 2 and sent them aside.
I die cut the sentiment, from MFT’s Friend Duo dies, once from Neenah Solar White and twice from white 110# Recollections cardstock. I used the same red markers to color in the Neenah die cut, creating an ombre effect by layering on the colors from light to dark. Then I stacked and adhered the three die cuts together.
For the card front I used an A2-sized piece of Neenah. I die cut the three little windows using MFT’s Stitched Triple Peek-A-Boo Window dies. I left the dies attached to each other for easy and even spacing.
I created the blue background by blending Broken China Distress ink onto an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I sprinkled clean, clear water onto the panel and let the drops sit for about 10 seconds before I blotted them up with a paper towel.
Now that I had all of the pieces of the card ready, I positioned the sentiment die cut and stamped Happy Birthday (also from the Bitty Bears stamp set) in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I backed this panel with foam tape and then adhered it to the blue background. Then I adhered the little bears, also with foam tape, tucking them into the three windows. Lastly, I glued the “friend” sentiment and then adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
