You Make Everything Colorful

Hi there, I hope you’re having a good week!  It’s been a stressful one for me so far but I’m really looking forward to the long weekend.

When I’m stressed and tired, one thing that always perks me up is playing with Nuvo Shimmer Powders 🙂

I started by heat embossing the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Heart background stamp onto a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper using VersaMark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder. Then used painter’s tape to tape the panel down to my work surface.  I added clean clear water all over the card with a flat brush, getting it quite wet.

I gently tapped some Cherry Bomb Nuvo Shimmer Powder into the heart area, and then added a bit of Catherine Wheel powder around that.  Then I added Solar Flare powder to the corners.  Using a small round paintbrush, I gently moved the colors around to blend them slightly and too make sure that the entire panel was covered.

While the panel was drying, I stamped the sentiment in Altenew Rubellite ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp’s Crafty Friends stamp set.  I backed the sentiment strip in foam tape and set it aside.

When the background was dry, I trimmed it to 4? x 5.25″ and adhered it to an A2-sized card base.  Then I adhered the sentiment to finish the card.
