Hi there and happy happy Friday!
Today I’m sharing a card using sweet hummingbirds and a background stamp that I totally adore using for this water stamping technique.
I started by using foam blending tools to blend Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks onto an A2–sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.
Then, I spritzed the Floral Fantasy background stamp from My Favorite Things with a Distress Sprayer. I sprayed it about 8 times from about 18 inches away, taking care not to spray it so much that the water beaded up on the stamp. I placed the misted stamp face-up on my work surface and then placed the inked panel face down on top of the stamp. I covered it with a piece of scrap paper and a heavy book and let it sit for about 15 seconds. When I lifted the book and scrap paper and turned the panel over, an impression of the stamp was left on the background. I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and set it aside to dry.
I stamped the hummingbirds, from Pretty Pink Posh’s Hummingbird Thanks stamp set, in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink onto the same Neenah cardstock. I used R81, R83, R85, and R89 to do some quick coloring and shading and then I cut them out using the coordinating dies.
When the background was dry, I treated it with an anti-static powder tool and then used VersaMark ink and Hero Arts white embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Encouraging Greetings stamp set. Then I adhered the hummingbirds with foam tape and adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for coming by!
