Hi there, I hope you’re having a great weekend!  I’m holding on tightly to every last minute of my staycation before I head back to work tomorrow ;p

Today’s card features the Majestic Bloom stamp set and the Classy Stripes stencil, both from Altenew.

I started by stamping the four layers of the bloom onto Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock.  I used four Altenew inks: Solt Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, and Midnight Violet.  The first three colors make up the petals, and the last color is the very center of the flower.  For the leaves, I used Altenew’s Parrot and Olive inks.  I die cut the images and set them aside.

For the background, I used a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smoothe cardstock.  I used washi tape to secure the stencil over the background and then used a foam blending tool to lightly blend on Altenew Evening Gray ink.  I blended more heavily towards the left of the background and then faded it out towards the right.

I adhered the leaves flush to the background, leaving some of the largest leaves free so that they would stand up a bit. I got a sense of where the bloom would be and then stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink using a Misti before I adhered the bloom with foam tape. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
