Hi there, I hope you’re having a bright and beautiful day! I’ve got just a few more hours to go and then I have a five-day weekend stretched out before me. Time to relax!
Today’s card uses the Center Cut Burst background stamp and the Sea You Soon stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
I started by stamping the background stamp in VersaMark ink onto an A2-sized piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper. Then I poured Hero Arts white embossing powder over top and hit it with a heat gun.
I taped the panel down to my work surface using blue painter’s tape and then used a flat brush to wet the panel with clean clear water. Using an 8 round brush, I dropped in three colors of Mission Mijello Gold watercolors (Permanent Yellow Light, Permanent Yellow Deep, and Yellow Orange), adding the lightest color in the center and gradually adding darker colors as I reached the perimeter.
I let the panel dry for a bit and then got impatient and used a heat gun to help it along. I was careful not to let the heat linger too long on the panel so as not to remelt the embossing powder. I trimmed the panel down to 4″ x 5.25″ and then adhered it to an A2-sized card base.
I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a piece of vellum. Then I poured clear embossing powder over top and hit it with a heat gun. I die cut the sentiment out using a circle from the Hero Arts Nested Circles die set and then added very small drops of glue to the backsides of the letters so that the adhesive wouldn’t show through the vellum. I placed the piece over the center of the background and weighed it down with an acrylic block for a few minutes until the glue was dry. And that finished up the card!
Thanks for coming by!
