Hi there, I hope you’re having a great weekend!
Today’s card features the Focus On You stamp set from Altenew. I’m also using a color palette and technique from Day One of Altenew’s One-Layer Wonders card class by Kelly Latevola. I started by using Post-It tape to mask of a strip of an A2-sized piece of Neenah Solar White #80 Classic Crest cardstock. Then I got out two flower stamps and hand stamped them in Copic-friendly Hero Arts Intense Black ink. I started in the middle of the card and worked my way outwards to help ensure I didn’t end up with large unstamped areas in the middle of the card. Before I started coloring, I used a Copic Multiliner pen to draw lines along the masked area. Then I removed the mask.
I used Y13 and Y15 to color the flowers, leaving the center of the flowers white. I used YG03 for the stems and some of the leaves, and B32 for the rest of the leaves.
Then I used four cool grays (C7, C5, C3, and C1) to create a faux shadow at the top and bottom of the sentiment area. I started with the darkest color and then gradually added lighter colors to soften the shadow further out from the sentiment strip.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink and adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
