Today’s card is a quick and easy one using the Be Strong stamp set from Ellen Hutson’s Essentials By Ellen line.
I started with an A2-sized piece of Canson XL watercolor paper. I smooshed three colors of Distress Ink (Candied Apple, Worn Lipstick, and Spun Sugar) onto an acrylic block, slightly overlapping the colors, and then spritzed the block seven times with a Ranger Distress Sprayer (any fine misting sprayer will do) from about a foot away. I then turned the block onto the smooth side of the watercolor paper, weighed the block down with a heavy book, and set a timer for five minutes. When time was up, I slowly removed the block at an angle, lifting from the light pink area first to avoid dragging any dark inky water into the light area. Then I mopped up some small pools of inky water using a paper towel.
I let the background dry, helping it a long with a heat tool when I got impatient. Then I trimmed the piece down to about 3.75″ x 5″. I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Black Onyx ink, and then added foam tape to the back to pop it up from the A2-sized card base that I adhered it to. And that finished up today’s card.
