Sending You A Little Sunshine | Hero Arts December 2020 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

It’s release day at Hero Arts and I’ve got two cards to share as we celebrate the new December release with a blog hop and giveaway! If you’ve arrived from Pocono Pam’s blog, you’re right on track. If you’d like to start from the beginning, head on over to the Hero Arts blog.

This month’s kit, full of sunshine and hope, has gorgeous cloud layering stamps and two versatile standalone dies. And, it’s a fantastic value at $34.99 when its contents are valued at $78!

For my first card today, I began by using the frame die to cut the cloudy circular opening from an A2-sized piece of Dove White cardstock. I love how this die can be used either with the clouds at the bottom of the opening or at the top, as I’ve used it here. I stamped the sentiment in Intens-ified Black ink.

Next, I blended Blue Hawaii Reactive ink onto one end of another A2-sized piece of Dove White cardstock, concentrating the color at the top of the panel and fading it to almost white. Overlaying the first panel over the ink-blended panel, I used a pencil to lightly trace the outline of the die cut opening to help me plan where to position the sun. Then, I used Citrine Pigment ink to stamp the body of the sun and the two layers of rays.

To assemble the card, I backed the die cut panel with foam tape and adhered it over the ink-blended panel. I used the extra cloud die to cut another cloud which I adhered to the background, peeking out from the circular opening. Finally, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

My next card uses a colorful piece that was left over from when I made the card I shared last Friday. I’d kept the “hope” frame and adhered it to a piece of Paradise cardstock which I’d cut with the “hope” outline die.

Using the same Citrine ink, I stamped the large arc of sunshine rays and then I rotated the stamp 180 degrees and stamped again, creating a full circle of rays. Then I used foam tape to adhere the die cut piece. I stamped the small sentiment and then adhered my card front to a card base to finish.

Here’s the card I shared on Friday, in case you missed it.

Thank you so much for coming by! Your next stop is Amy Kolling.

  3. I love all three of your cards! I tried to pick one so I could say I have a favorite, but I love the elegance of the first one (my first favorite), but then I saw the second one and I love the rays coming out of the O in Hope so then I had a new favorite, and then I saw the third one with Hope floating in the sky and I decided I couldn’t choose! This kit is a knock out, best ever from HA and you artists/designers on the hop have made it irresistible! I’m so glad mine is coming!

  4. This kit with that die HOPE couldn’t be released at a better time & the three cards you’ve made with it are fabulous. I love the warm colours you used to make the word HOPE. After all, what is life without hope?
