Hi there and happy Friday!
It’s day one of three days counting down to the December Hero Arts release on Monday, and today I’m sharing a card featuring the December My Monthly Hero card kit (the kit goes live on 12/7).
I started with the gorgeous cloud layering stamps, stamping the sold blue layer in Cornflower Mid-Tone Shadow Ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ of Dove White cardstock. Then I rotated the panel 180 degrees and stamped the again. Next, I stamped the second layer of clouds in Dusty Blue Mid-Tone Shadow Ink, rotated the panel 180 degrees. I stamped the final layer in Soft Sky Shadow Ink, rotated, and stamped again.
With the sky complete, I moved on to the Hope sentiment which I cut from another piece of Dove White cardstock. Rather than letting all of the pieces fall out, I used a piece of Post-it Tape to temporarily hold them all in place. Then, using a foam blending tool, I blended Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, and Fruit Punch Reactive inks over the sentiment, concentrating the yellow over the sun-shaped “o.” When I finished blending, I adhered the little pieces of the sentiment to the background, using the negative space of my die cut as a template to help me place the pieces.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Intens-ified Black ink, inking up and stamping the first and second parts of the stamp separately so that I could place the words on either side of the sun rays. And to finish, I adhered my card front to an A2-sized card base.
Hero Arts is giving away a kit during the countdown. To enter, visit the Hero Arts blog!
Thanks so much for coming by!

Ethereal message of Hope—beautiful work! My niece’s name is Hope; I had the honor of naming her after my sister went through a failed IVF and two failed adoptions. Years of waiting for our Hope, who’s 30 and will be married to her fellow astrophysicist fiancé next year. Thank you to all your talented designers!

Beautiful card. The white behind the hope die cut really makes it feel as if it is shining out towards you. You did a great job.
