Just Because Cards, Thank You Cards

Have A Delicious Day! | Hero Arts May 2022 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the sweet new May release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!

Hero Arts has cooked up some creativity with the May My Monthly Hero kit. The main kit features a gorgeous kitchen-themed Cover Plate die. The A2-sized cling stamp adds a great backsplash to your scene, or is versatile as a background on any project. There are dies for embellishing with pots or adding food, a fun new “cast iron” embossing powder, and messages for your card and gift giving needs. The kit is rounded out with cardstock in colors that give a vintage kitchen vibe, as well as wonderfully theme-appropriate baker’s twine.

I have two cards to share today, one with the kit and one that uses several of this month’s awesome add ons!

Have A Delicious Day!

For my first card, using the kit, I used the included cover die to die cut a piece of white cardstock. Next, I used Clear Embossing & Watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the tile background onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Mist cardstock. I glued a small piece of Papaya cardstock behind the bottom of the kitchen scene, so that a bit of orange would pop out from the drawer handle cutouts and at the baseboards, and then I glued the die cut panel to the heat-embossed background. Next, I used foam tape to adhere a sentiment from the kit that I’d stamped in Citrine Pigment ink onto an oval that I cut using a small die from the Nesting Ovals Infinity die set. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Thanks For Being So Sweet

For my second card, I began by cutting the two crocks from the Kitchen Crocks die set from Arctic cardstock. Next, I used a blending brush to blend Pool Party Reactive Ink over the sides and bottom of the crocks, and also onto the bottom of the small crock’s lid.

Next, I used dies from the Kitchen Tools die set to cut two spatulas and a whisk from matte silver cardstock, and a spoon and silicone spatula from Sand cardstock. I also cut the spatula from Antique Ivory cardstock. I used another blending brush to brush a bit of Caramel ink around the edges of the Sand spoon and silicone spatula, and then I trimmed the brown handle off the silicone spatula and glued it to the handle of the ivory spatula.

Next I used the large image from the Olive Branch stamp set to stamp two olive branches in Slate Pigment Ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. And then I stamped the sentiment, from the Treat Tags Stamp & Cut XL stamp and die set, in Onyx Pigment Ink.

To assemble the card, I tucked the kitchen tools into the large crock pot and used take on the back side to hold them in place. Then I used foam tape to adhere both crocks to the background before adhering the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is the lovely Jennifer Kotas! Be sure to read below for giveaway details.

  1. Hi, Seeka ! I love the crock w/ all the utensils in it! So cute and really well-done! I also like the blue kitchen. I’m excited about this kit b/c there is a lot that can be used w/ other items, mixed/matched and a lot of potential puns to be used. TFS!!
