You’re Sweet To The Core | Hero Arts March 2023 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the March release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!

This month we’re taking a trip to the farmer’s market. The Classic My Monthly Hero Kit includes a 6×8 stamp set loaded with various fruits that are fun to color, fruit-themed puns and some everyday messages as well. Use these stamps alone, or pair them with a fabulous fruit-themed 6×6 cling background stamp. Also included is a packet of the most adorable little clay fruit, great for shaker cards or to use as embellishments. In addition to the previous items, the Premium version of the kit (which I used here) includes additional elements to extend the potential for more cards and techniques – even more Creativity In The Box! There is a fantastic window die, carrying through the theme of fruits and vegetables. Also included are two of the brand new Neon Brights Liquid Watercolors for you to try, and a set of mini watercolor brushes. The kit is rounded out with an ink cube and a generous amount of watercolor paper and cardstock.

For my card, I used the window die to cut a piece of white cardstock and then took my time coloring with Copic markers. I backed the window with a piece of Arctic cardstock onto which I’d blended a bit of Aquatic ink to give it a deeper color towards the bottom. Then I stamped a sentiment, from the kit, in Onyx pigment ink.

My second card features veggies from the Keep It Fresh stamp and die bundle inside a crate made with the Cabbage Corn Crate Fancy Die set. I used Copic markers to color these images and then used foam tape to adhere them to a background I made with Arctic cardstock and Aquatic ink. I made the blackboard by stamping images from the Produce Labels Stamp & Cut XL set in Unicorn pigment ink onto Pitch Black cardstock. Then I used a foam blending tool to tamp a bit of Unicorn pigment ink around the panel, to make it look chalky.

Thank you so much for visiting! Your next stop is Jennifer Kotas. Be sure to read below for giveaway details!

  1. Hi, Seeka – Both cards are fantastic. It would be really hard for me to pick which I prefer… I think the little chalkboard at the farmers’ market (or one farmer’s market stand) is genius. Love the blue behind the fruits and veggies.

  2. I like both of your cards, but if I had to pick a favorite I would say the second card with the chalkboard and the ink blended background is my favorite!
    Thanks for sharing.

  3. Wow! Both of these cards look amazing! I love the coloring you did and that you made it look like a chalkboard behind the crate. Thank you for some really great ideas!
