Happy Halloween | Hero Arts September 2024 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the September collection. If you aren’t yet familiar with the reimagined Hero Arts monthly subscription program that launched in June, be sure to check out the six new Hero Studio subscriptions options!

Happy Halloween

My first card features stamps and dies from the September Card Kit of the Month. This kit has everything you need for spooky projects this fall!

To create this card:

  1. Use a die from the Nesting Circle Infinity Dies set to die cut a piece of masking paper and then mask off a a circle just above the center of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock
  2. Use an extra large blending brush to blend Grape Juice and Nautical Core Inks over the exposed areas of the panel, blending the two colors together where they meet. Also blend Nautical over another piece of cardstock; this will be used for the skeletons and sentiment.
  3. Use a small paint brush to splatter a bit of White Acrylic Spray over the top half of the panel; let the splatter dry
  4. Remove the mask and stamp the spooky house and witch in Onyx pigment ink
  5. Use Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the skeletons and sentiment, then use the coordinating dies to cut them out
  6. Use foam tape to adhere the skeletons and sentiment onto the card front
  7. Glue the card front to a card base.

I’ve Got My Eyes On You

This card features the September Fancy Dies of the Month as well as a the September Cling of the Month. I love how these come together to create a spooky portrait!

To recreate this card:

  1. Stamp the cling background in Onyx pigment ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Amethyst cardstock
  2. Cut the frame from another piece of Amethyst cardstock and a piece of gold vellum paper
  3. Glue the vellum frame over the Amethyst frame; using regular glue creates visible streaks which add to the “age” of the frame
  4. Spray the oval part of the Amethyst frame with Royal Purple + Gold Two-Tone Metallic Spray
  5. Die cut the silhouette from Pitch Black cardstock
  6. Stamp the sentiment (from 3×4 stamp set in the September Card Kit of the Month) in Onyx pigment ink at the bottom of the purple oval
  7. Adhere the silhouette with foam tape
  8. Adhere the oval and frame to the card front with foam tape
  9. Glue the card front to a card base
