Hello and welcome! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the April release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. If you’ve arrived from visiting Pocono Pam, you’re right on track!
The April release is a fun, eclectic mix of florals and mixed media! The Premium Kit includes a 6″ x 8″ stamp set full of elements to mix and match for creating flower clusters, vases filled with blooms, and interesting patterns – either in the background or right on the flowers and vases themselves! Two red rubber cling stamps add even more pattern options. There are dies to cut out all of the elements, including the messages. An exclusive washi tape with a handwritten script pattern can be added to your design or on your envelopes, and four Core Ink cubes round out the items also available in the Classic version of this kit. The star of the upgraded Premium Kit are the Fancy Dies to cut out vases, greenery, and blooms. The options for die and color combinations are endless! Decorate the vases with the stamps, or use the fun doodle stencil included. The final element is a great set of enamel stickers, which match the fun & funky collage theme of this kit release!

For this card, I used elements from both the Classic and Premium versions of the kit. I used the Premium kit dies to cut leafy stems, bluds, and the vase from Arctic cardstock, Peony cardstock, Passion Flower cardstock, Kiwi cardstock, and Meadow cardstock. Using blending brushes, I added a bit of shading to the die cuts with Amethyst, Aquatic, Green Hills, and Ultra Pink inks. I also used Aquatic ink and the kit’s stencil to blend some details to the vase. Next, I glued the buds to stems and then set the pieces aside.
For the background, I stamped one of the included cling stamps in Mist ink twice onto a panel of Dove White cardstock. I trimmed the panel down a bit and then glued it to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Arctic cardstock. Then I used glue and foam tape to adhere the vase and flowers and added a stamped sentiment from the kit. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.

My second card features the new Artistic Peony stencil and new Arches Infinity die set. I positied the stencil over a panel of Dove White cardstock and then used blending brushes to blend Peony, Cotton Candy, and Ultra Pink inks over the stencil, concentrating the darker and brighter colors towards the center of one of the peonies.
Next, I used a die from the Arches Infinity die set to cut a window from a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Dove White cardstock. I used foam tape to adhere the window panel over the stenciled panel.
For the sentiment, I used die from the Hello There Stamp & Cut set to cut white cardstock, Peony cardstock (twice) and Ultra Pink cardstock. I deepend the color of one of the Peony die cuts by blending a bit of Ultra Pink ink over it. Then I cut away the word “there” from each die cut and then glued the four pieces together, slightly offset. I glued this to the card front and added a smaller stamped sentiment. To finish, I glued the card front to a card base.
