Happy Birthday To You | Concord & 9th Feature Friday

Hello and welcome, I hope you’ve had a good week!

I’m so excited to be guest designing for Concord & 9th’s October release! Today is the first of three Feature Fridays for the new collection and we’re playing with three Turnabout^TM stamp sets!

This first card features the new Exclamations Bundle which I stamped in Buttercup, Sorbet, Ballet Slipper, and Grapefruit inks. Then I added a large sentiment cut from Aqua Sky cardstock (with a bit of Oceanside ink blended at the bottom). I created a little megaphone with the same blue cardstock and added shading, again with Oceanside, and I cut the metal details of the megaphone from gold cardstock.

My second card features the new Picnic Plaid Turnabout^TM stamp which I stamped just twice (instead of all four turns) using Aqua Sky ink. For the deeper color, I simply double-stamped the layer, both times using Aqua Sky. I love how stamping this background only twice leaves a lot of open white space! I trimmed the panel down and then glued it to a slightly larger panel of Aqua Sky cardstock.

I added the same birthday sentiment as my previous card, this time adding some orange blending to the shadow layer using Marmalade ink.

My last card features the In The Meadow bundle. I stamped a 6×6 background in Buttercup, Marmalade, Grapefruit, and Honeysuckle inks and then trimmed the panel down into a strip. I glued it to a slightly wider strip of Honeysuckle cardstock and then I glued the combined piece to a white background I cut using the Chevron Quilt Top dies.

I cut the sentiment from white cardstock and then cut its shadow layer from Honeysuckle cardstock. I cut a second shadow layer from Buttercup cardstock and then cut it in half, horizontally, to create the effect of a larger shadow layer beneath the pink layer.

I used foam tape to adhere the sentiment to the card front and then tucked in leaves and flowers (from the In The Meadow die set) cut from white cardstock.
