Thanks For All You Do | Altenew Get Inky with Alcohol Inks Blog Hop + Giveaway

Altenew alcohol inks not only refill their artists markers, but they can be used alone as you would other alcohol inks. For these two cards, I used two new sets of colors: Sugarplums and Tranquility.

For my alcohol ink panels, I used Grafix Craft Plastic Sheets (12″X12″ Opaque White 0.10). This is a much less expensive alternative to Yupo paper.

I’m not very skilled at alcohol ink art and tend to get impatient, so for these full coverage panels, I dropped a mix of the inks around and onto 6″x6″ panels of Craft Plastic, added drops of Ranger Blending Solution, and then smooshed another 6″x6″ panel on top to spread the ink around. I gently pulled the panels apart and then tilted each one to get the alcohol ink running again to smooth out any odd lines that were created when I pulled the panels apart.

On the dusty purple panel, I used a stylus to add very tiny drops of 91% rubbing alcohol along one of the harsher lines. On the smoky blue panel, I pressed a piece of Deco Foil gold transfer foil onto the panel while the hard line of ink was still wet in order to create a shiny gold vein (it’s a bit hard to see in the picture but it looks beautiful in real life!).

I added sentiments, cut from the same alcohol ink panels and white cardstock using the Bold Thanks die set, and then added a small secondary sentiment.

To finish, I trimmed each panel to about 4″x5.25″ and then used foam tape to adhere them to white card bases.
