Hello, I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday!
Today I’m sharing a card featuring the Peacock die from Hero Arts’ July release. This die is meant to cut out a beautifully textured peacock but for this card, I used the die as a foil plate.
I started by creating the paint-swiped panel that I cut the peacock from. For this, I dropped a few drops of teal and light aqua acrylic paints onto a craft mat and then lightly misted the drops as well as a panel of Bermuda cardstock with clean clear water. I swiped the panel through the paint, covering it fully, and then let the panel dry.
When dry, I used my Gemini Foil Press machine (the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System is great, too!) to foil the peacock onto the panel with gold foil. The I used the outline die to cut out the image.
Next, I heat embossed the sentiment (from the Birds of Paradise stamp set) using Gold embossing powder onto a 3.5″ x 4.75″ panel of Bermuda cardstock.
To assemble the card, I used foam tape to adhere the peacock to the sentiment panel and then trimmed off the excess. Then I used more foam tape to adhere the card front to an A2 card base.
Thank you so much for visiting!
