Encouragement Cards, Just Because Cards

Hugs Hello Friend | Gina K. Designs

Hello there, I hope your week is going well! I, for one, am REALLY glad it’s almost the weekend. What about you?

My bright card today features the Basket Weave cover plate die and the Hugs die from Gina K. Designs, as well as Gina’s Wild Dandelion and Passionate Pink inks.

I started off by using blending brushes to blend Wild Dandelion ink at one end of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock and Passionate Pink at the other end. I blended the colors towards each other and then took my time working the two colors together to get a nice peachy color in the middle.

Next, I used the Basket Weave cover plate die to cut the ink-blended panel. I took a lot of care removing the cut piece from the die because I wanted most of the fallout pieces to stay in place. Once I had the die cut piece inky-side up on my desk, I rubbed a piece of Press ‘n Seal over it (a low tack tape would work, too) to help keep all the pieces together. Then I flipped it over and added glue to the back of the piece before turning it right side up again and centering it over a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of white cardstock. I pressed down to adhere the die cut pieces and then gently peeled back the Press ‘n Seal.

Next, I used the Hugs die once to cut a piece of glossy black cardstock and twice ore to cut plain black cardstock. I stacked and adhered the three pieces together with the glossy piece on top. I adhered the resulting dimensional sentiment to the card front and then added a small sentiment strip (this from one of Gina’s recent kits) with foam tape. To finish, I adhered the card front to a card base.

Thank you so much for visiting!
