My card today features the Statement Flowers stamp set and the Artists’ Watercolor 24 Pan Set.

I started off by using a bright gold embossing powder to heat emboss the floral image onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of watercolor paper. Then, I set about watercoloring. I started with Summer Afternoon yellow and Red Cosmos watercolors for the petals, and then added Shades of Purple into the center of the open bloom. Next, I used Rain Forest and Tropical Forest greens for the leaves.

When the blooms and leaves were dry, I added clean clear water around them and then dropped in Crystal Water blue and loosely pulled the color out towards the edges of the panel.

While the panel was drying, I used white embossing powder to heat emboss a sentiment from the Sentiment Strips 3 stamp set onto black cardstock. I cut the sentiment between the two words and then used foam tape to adhere them to the watercolor panel. To finish, I glued the watercolor panel to an A2-sized card base.

  14. Hi Seeka! Your water coloring and colors you chose for these happy flowers is perfection! The purple centers is a gorgeous surprise too! The blue free form background really makes the flowers pop off the paper! Thank you for sharing your beautiful artistic talent and the inspiration we can all use in the hump days of winter!
