Happy Holidays | Hero Arts November 2021 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you’re here! It’s release day at Hero Arts and we’re celebrating the November release with a blog hop full of inspiration and a giveaway. My first card today features this month’s My Monthly Hero kit which has all of the dies you need to create Santa, snowman, elf, and reindeer tags, plus stamps to create patterns on your die cut pieces or on your backgrounds. Trim away the tag loop for more versatility, or keep the loop in place as I have here and create a card element that can be easily removed and used as a tag or ornament!

To recreate this card, from which the reindeer can be removed and used as a tag or an ornament:

  1. Die cut the reindeer’s head from Sand cardstock and then cut just the eye area out of Dove White cardstock; use brown and black markers to color the white eyes and then set the pieces aside
  2. Die cut the reindeer’s snout from Sand cardstock and then cut just the nose area out of Azalea cardstock; trim the pink nose piece and adhere to the brown snout
  3. Die cut the reindeer’s ears/antlers out of Sand cardstock and then cut just the ear areas out of white cardstock; trim the white inner ear parts and adhere to the brown ears
  4. Use a blending brush to tamp a bit of Unicorn pigment ink to the antler tips, sprinkle with White Puff embossing powder, and then melt with a heat gun
  5. Die cut his hat and scarf out twice, once from Azalea cardstock and once from Dove White; trim the white hat’s pom pom and border detail, and the white scarfs tips and then adhere to the pink hat and scarf and set aside
  6. Adhere all of the pieces together to complete the reindeer; loop baker’s twine or ribbon through the hanging loop and then set the piece aside
  7. Stamp the striped stamp in Aquatic ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Dove white cardstock, then trim 3/8″ off both the length and width of the panel
  8. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink and then use tape to adhere the the twine of the tag to the back of the panel (position the tape so that the tag can be pulled out relatively easily)
  9. Use foam tape to adhere the card front to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Paradise cardstock (don’t place foam tape over the twine)
  10. Adhere the card front to a card base

My second card features the new Hug In A Mug Stamp & Cut XL stamp and die set along with the a subtle background created using the new Argyle Pattern Bold Prints cling stamp. To recreate this card:

  1. Die cut the mug from Arctic cardstock; use a blending brush to blend a bit of Aquatic ink at the edges of the mug
  2. Die cut the top of the mug (just the oval) out of Chestnut cardstock and adhere to the top of of the blue mug
  3. Use Clear Embossing & Watermark ink and white embossing powder to heat emboss the snowflake; set the mug aside
  4. Die cut the whipped cream from Dove White cardstock
  5. Use a Marvy Snow Marker to cover the die cut and then sprinkle a bit of Sand embossing powder over the top of the die cut and then heat with a heat gun until the Snow Marker puffs up like whipped cream; adhere to the mug
  6. Die cut the candy cane from Dove White cardstock and use a red marker to color the stripes; adhere behind the mug
  7. Stamp the Argyle Pattern Bold Prints stamp in Clear Embossing & Watermark ink onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Arctic cardstock, then trim the 3/8″ off both the length and width of the panel
  8. Stamp the sentiment in black pigment ink onto the background
  9. Use foam tape to adhere the mug to the background
  10. Adhere the card front to a card base

  10. I have seen other people using these colors for Christmas cards, and I have never been really sure about pink for Christmas…… Until now! I just love this reindeer. It has given me an idea of doing a pink one for my granddaughter and a blue one for my grandson! Thank you.
