My card today uses one of my favorite techniques for detailed floral images. While this beautiful stamp is great for coloring and painting, I also love how it looks in black and white!

I started by stamping the image three times onto a piece of low tack masking paper (Altenew has a great one here) in Permanent Black ink. Then I cut the images out. Note that I did not leave any margin around the image.

Next, I stamped the image again, this time around the border of a 4.25″ x 5.5″ panel of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. When the ink was dry, I masked the images off with the masks I created in the previous step. Then, I used Post-It Tape to mask off a 3/8″ border around the edges of the card.

Using two Large Blending Tools, one for blues and one for greens, I blended Bamboo Crisp Dye Ink at the bottom of the panel and Aqualicious at the top of the panel, over the masks. I blended the colors towards and into each other where they met in the middle of the panel.

Next, I removed the masks and stamped the sentiment in Permanent Black ink. I finished off this bold one-layer card by adhering the card front to an A2-sized card base.

  14. Oh oh oh….I absolutely love the design of this card! thanks for the masking idea. Like that you left the flowers white, and your ink blending rocks. The border is a really nice look, too! Love this PAF release.

  28. First midnight violet and magenta and now bamboo and aqualicious; this hop has me adding ink to my wish list. That color combination is stunning.
