Hi there, I hope you’re having a nice day!
Today, we’re celebrating the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Antique Rose Layering Die Set release! If you arrived from Rachael Shedeed’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for giveaway information and the full blog hop list.
I started off by cutting the four layers of the rose from four shades of violet cardstocks, using the darkest cardstock for the bottom layer, and adhering the layers together. Then, I cut both layers of the leaves, all in the same mustardy yellow green, for a tone-on-tone look, and adhered those layers together. I also cut the standalone leaf twice from the same color.
For the background, I used Post-it Tape to mask off the borders of an A2-sized panel of Neenah Solar White 80# Classic Crest cardstock. Using a large blending tool, I blended a bit of Winter Lake Crisp Dye Ink up from the bottom of the panel and then added a bit of Icy Water Crisp Dye Ink, letting the color fade out to white towards the top of the panel. Next, I removed the mask and stamped the sentiment, from the Tall Foliage stamp set, in Permanent Black ink.
Next, I adhered the layered leaves to the background using glue and then adhered the bloom with foam tape. I cut apart the standalone leaves so I had six separate leaves and then I tucked and glued those in around the flower. To finish, I adhered the card front to a top-folding card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Your next stop in the hop is SathyaKala Sankaran, and be sure to scroll down below for information about the giveaway and for the full blog hop list.

Boy, that rose really pops off the card with your use of mustard for the leaves and the touch of blue background. Very lovely.

Lovely card! I especially like the colors you chose against the stark white background of the card! This is a wonderful new addition to Altenew’s flower dies!

Interesting color choice for your leaves but that color really helps your beautiful rose pop off the card. Such a lovely thank you card. Thanks for sharing!
