Hello, I hope you’re having a good week!
Today we’re celebrating the new Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Morning Glory Layering Die Set release! If you arrived from Nathalie DeSousa’s blog, you’re right on track. If you want to hop along from the beginning, visit the Altenew Card Blog. Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list!
I chose to watercolor my floral but this beautiful set is also offered with a bundle that includes gradient cardstock. And don’t forget that you can also subscribe, at a discount, to the kit so that you never miss out on a Craft-A-Flower release!
I started off my card by die cutting all of the pieces out of watercolor paper. I grouped the die cut pieces into the different layers and then watercolored them using Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers. For the layers of the blooms, I used Mango Smoothie, Sunkissed, and Crimson. I used Moss for both of the leaf layers, concentrating the color more to create a darker layer. The Watercolor Brush Markers are available in sets but I encourage you to check out the brush marker refills if you want to invest in just a few colors and don’t mind using a regular paint brush!
While the watercolor was drying, I used the Layered Plaid Cover Die B to cut a piece of white cardstock. Rather than removing all of the fallout pieces, I left some in place and quickly adhered the die cut to another panel of white cardstock. I love the white-on-white textured background this creates!
Next, I stamped the sentiment, from the Needlework Motif stamp set, onto a strip of cardstock.
To assemble the card, I used a combination of Zots Bling adhesive dots and foam tape to adhere the floral pieces to the background. I adhered the sentiment with foam tape and finished off by adhering the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for coming by! Be sure to scroll to the bottom for information about the Giveaway and the full blog hop list. Your next stop is the lovely and talented Amber Rain Davis!

These colors are just beautiful. I have never seen this combo in nature, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there. OR that these colors can’t be used even if they aren’t natural. I LOVE orange and yellow flowers–my favorites!

Such pretty color choices. The layout is lovely and I like the idea of the Layered Plaid cover die with a few fallout pieces left in place for more white on white texture.
