Joy | 25 Days Of Christmas Tags 2020

Hi there, crafty friends! Today I’m representing Birch Press Design in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags, organized by the lovely Tracey McNeely. Be sure to head over to Tracey’s blog for more inspiration!

These tags feature the Frosty Flake Layer A and Layer C dies from Birch Press Designs, along with their Big Joy Sugar Script dies and their Simple Joy dies.

I began by die cutting tags from Hero Hues Lapis cardstock and Paradise cardstock using a die from the Hero Arts Nested Tags die set. I used a blending brush to blend a bit of blue ink to the bottom left and the top right of the Lapis tag, and to blend a bit of teal ink to the same areas on the Paradise tag. Then I used a small paint brush to splattered both with white Dina Wakley Media Gloss Spray.

While the tags were drying, I die cut Frosty Flake Layer A twice out of The Stamp Market Diamond Glitter cardstock and then I cut Layer C twice out of white cardstock. I made two snowflakes by adhering each Layer A to a Layer C, adding glue only to the centers of the snowflakes so that the two layers could still lift away from each other at the points of the snowflakes.

Next I die cut the detail layer of each sentiment from white cardstock three times and then stacked an adhered the layers together, for a dimensional sentiment. Then I cut the shadow layer of each sentiment from vellum and adhered the white and vellum layers together.

To assemble the blue tag, I adhered both the snowflake and sentiment to the tag using glue. For the teal tag, I adhered the snowflake with glue and then popped up the sentiment with foam tape. To finish each, I added a small jewel to the center of each snowflake and then threaded white ribbon through the tag holes.

Thank you so much for visiting!
