Just Because Cards

Hello | The Stamp Market

Hi there, I hope your week is going well!

I have a pair of cards today featuring the Mod Rainbow Cover Die, and the new Handwritten Hellos dies. I love this modern and sophisticated take on rainbows!

I started by die cutting six pieces of cardstock with the rainbow die. The colors I used were Neenah Solar white, Cherry Kisses, Bubble Gum, Blush, Sea Glass, and Tropic Teal. I adhered the white frame onto an A2-sized card base and then ran a tape runner over area where the arcs of the rainbow would be. I pieced in the arcs one by one, finishing with the Neenah Solar White piece that fit in the in the center of the rainbow.

I repeated the process on a second card, this time reversing the color order of the arcs. To do this second card, I had to cut one more piece of Neenah Solar White and one more piece of Bubble Gum (since in both variations Bubble Gum is the 3rd and 7th arcs).

Next I die cut the Hello sentiment from the gorgeous new Diamond Glitter cardstock. This cardstock is so glittery, it really looks like glitter adhered to paper! I was so pleasantly surprised that it die cut so well, even with such a delicate sentiment.

I cut the sentiment two times from scrap white cardstock and then cut the shadow layer from vellum. I adhered the glitter sentiment to the shadow layer, and then stacked and adhered the white cardstock layers together and adhered them underneath the vellum. This gives a stable layer, completely hidden behind the vellum and top layer, that is perfect for adding glue to in order to adhere the sentiment to the background. I use a Zig 2-Way Glue pen for adhering detailed layers like these together. I created another sentiment and then adhered both to the backgrounds.

Thank you so much for visiting!
