I know I say this every month, but how is it the middle of the month already?! And the middle of the month means it’s time to kick off a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero. This month’s theme is Embossing!
For my card today, I used the new Underwater Pattern Bold Prints background stamp, the older Paper Layering Seahorses dies, and a sentiment from the Birthday Hugs and Kisses stamp set which is available as part of this kit.
I started by using Embossing & Watermark ink and Judikins Translucent Gold embossing powder to heat emboss the background onto an A2-sized piece of Paradise cardstock. Using a blending brush, I ink blended a bit of Blue Raspberry Reactive ink around the edges of the cardstock and then splattered some gold watercolor over the panel.
Next, I die cut the seahorse from scrap white cardstock and then placed it on a piece of scrap paper. I smooshed the embossing ink pad over it and then dipped it in embossing powder. I melted the powder, added another layer of embossing ink and embossing powder, and hit it with a heat gun a second time.
I used the same embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment onto a strip of black cardstock and used foam tape to adhere it to the background. Then I backed the seahorse with foam tape and added it to the card, tucking its tail underneath the sentiment. To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.
Thank you so much for coming by!
Awesome card….love it
