Just Because Cards, Thinking Of You Cards

Thinking Of You

Hi there, I hope you had a good holiday and kept safe and healthy!

Today I’m sharing another heat embossed background stamp over an ink-blended panel.  Lately I’ve been creating a background or two when I feel like getting inky but don’t have the energy, or time, to create a finished card.  It’s so satisfying 🙂

This A2-sized panel of Bristol Smooth Cardstock is blended with (from top to bottom), Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries, and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide inks.  I used foam blending tools to add two stripes of colors at a time and then took my time blending them together using a combination of blending and tamping motions to build up color and ease the transition between the colors.

This panel dried overnight since I had only set out to blend some backgrounds.  Because of the long dry time, just bit of anti-static powder brushed over top was more than enough to prevent stray embossing powder from sticking everywhere.

20200704_135449I used Wow! Embossing Pad and white Hero Arts embossing powder to heat emboss the Simon Says Stamp Center Cut Hexagon Floral background stamp onto the panel.  I did remove the center hexagon first, since I wanted to heat emboss a sentiment.

Next, I heat embossed the center hexagon/sentiment which is from the Hexagon Greetings stamp set. I love how it perfectly coordinates with the background stamp!

I did lose a bit of detail on the banner so I used a Tonic craft pick to scrape embossing powder away from where the bends in the banner should have been.

Finally, to finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized card base.

Thank you so much for coming by!

  1. I love this card so much, Seeka – everything about it has me swooning, most especially that blend. Added to the list of “Seeka cards to CASE”!
