Hi there, I hope you’re doing well.
I have a one-layer card for you today, a card that I worked on during an Instagram live. During the live, we wondered whether or not blending Distress Oxide inks and regular Distress inks together would work. Sure enough, it did.
I started with an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock and four colors of ink:
- Wild Honey Distress Oxide ink
- Ripe Persimmon Distress ink
- Festive Berries Dstress Oxide ink
- Seedless preserves Distress ink
Using foam blending tools, I blended the inks onto the panel from light to dark. I blended two colors together where they met, alternating back and forth between each color to build up the ink on the panel and to get a nice blend. I found that these four colors blend together really well, despite the different formulations of inks.
When the panel was dry, I used Versafine Clair Nocturne ink to stamp a silhouette image from the Simon Says Stamp Wildflowers stamp set, and a sentiment from the Miss You Missy stamp set, also from Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks so much for coming by!
Beautiful card

Gorgeous card, and I so appreciate the “report out ” on your findings as I have different colors in my oxides vs distressed and hadn’t thought to be able to combine the two.
