Hi there, I hope your weekend is going well!
Today I’m sharing a one-layer card feature a sentiment from the brand new sentiment stamp set from Gina K. Designs.
I started by using Post-it Tape to mask off the edges of an A2-sized piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. Then I used foam blending tools to blend on three colors of Gina K. Designs ink (Ocean Mist, Blue Lagoon, and Turquoise Sea), creating an ombre effect of dark to light.
When the panel was dry, I removed the Post-it Tape and replaced it with fresh Post-it Tape. I did this because I didn’t want any blue ink on the old Post-it tape to get reactivated during the next step.
I positioned the Thick Brush stencil over the panel and used washi tape to hold it in place. Using another foam blending tool, I daubed on white pigment ink, through the stencil and onto the blue background. I found that I was getting a bit of blue ink transfer onto my blending tool so to protect my white ink pad, I smooshed it onto my glass work surface and then picked up white ink from there, instead of from the ink pad. I let the panel dry and then did another layer of white pigment ink, to intensify the contrast.
After the panel was dry, I removed the Post-it tape and then placed it into my Misti. Using black pigment ink, I stamped the sentiment which is from the brand new Just Because stamp set, which was designed by Emily Loggins (@emilyloggins on Instagram).
To finish, I adhered the card front to an A2-sized care base.
Thank you so much for swinging by!
